Tips on caring for your diamonds:
- Don't do heavy work while wearing your diamonds. Even though they are very durable, they can still be chipped during a hard accident.
- Store your diamonds away from other jewelry, as they can scratch them. A fabric lined case, such as Best of Time's Rosewood Gift Boxes, are ideal. You can also use a jewelry pouch to store them.
- Inspect your diamonds to make sure their settings are secure. If prongs become loosened, you should see a local jeweler. They will be able to take care of repair work, if necessary. Also, an expert jeweler can clean and maintain your diamond for you.
- Exposure to hand-lotions or creams, hairspray, or other household chemicals can eventually cause a build-up on diamonds which will reduce their sparkle and brilliance.
To clean your diamonds:
- Use a mixture of warm water along with ammonia to soak your diamonds in.
- Gently scrub your jewelry with an old, soft-bristled toothbrush. This will be most useful for extensive cleaning.
- Rinse your diamonds, and dry them using a soft cloth.
